Electrical/Electronic Engineering Path
The electrical/electronic engineering development program is a two
year development program designed to develop the future electrical
and electronic engineering talent at Black & Decker. We are
looking for strong technical skills, hands-on capabilites and a passion
for product design. The purpose is to create technical leaders in all
aspects of Black & Decker product development.
The program consists of rotating job assignments, custom developed
based on the interests and development needs of each participant.
Participants will also receive extensive training courses and seminars.
Possible Rotations:
USER-PRODUCT AWARENESS FIELD ASSIGNMENT (SWARM
TEAM)
Focus on Product Knowledge and The Customer
- Extensive Training at B&D University
- Daily contact with end users on a wide range of
power tools
- Locations Nationwide
MANUFACTURING PLANT:
- Exposure to the Manufacturing Plant Operation;
Learn the People and Processes
- Learn connection between engineering and
manufacturing
- New Product Process as well as Six Sigma, CAD,
Product Manager
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT:
Assist engineers in design and development of electronic/
electromechanical systems
- Learn The Electric Machine Design Principles,
Electric Machine Sub-Assembly and Component Design Principles
- Learn The Electro-Mechanical System Operation
Principles and Basic Principle of Motor Controls, Switch Mode Power
Supplies and Battery Chargers
- Use Schematic Capture, Simulation Tools, CAD
and Product Manager
- Learn Protel, PSPICE, SABER, ANSOFT as well as custom, in-house
developed simulation packages
Upon successful completion of the electrical/electronic EDP
experience, each graduate will be eligible for a full time position in
Black & Decker engineering.
